Melba Lucille Kirk, loving mother and sister, passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 66 in Lufkin. Melba was born on December 19, 1957, in Kirbyville, to Clyde E. Kirk, Sr. and Barbara Ann Sapp Kirk. She was a talented musician who loved playing the piano and she enjoyed gardening in her free time. Melba's career spanned various restaurants, where she shared her passion for food with others. Melba will be deeply missed by her daughter, Amy Ann Ayala of Hemphill; brother, Allen Ray Kirk of Richmond, ; sisters, Lisa Ann Brymer and husband David, and Julie Ellen Brymer and husband John, all of Hemphill; sister-in-law, Barbara Brymer of Hemphill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Barbara Kirk, and her brother, Clyde Kirk Jr.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on the same day in Hemphill Cemetery, with Bro. Rex White and Bro. Junior Wood officiating.
