Mattie Ann Nelson, 72, of Hemphill, passed away Monday, Sept. 11 at her home. She was born Dec. 22, 1951 in Hemphill to the late Elmon Nelson and Azell Jenkins Nelson.

She is survived by two sisters, Irma Ann Rawls of Houston and Van Ciel Adams of Beumont as well as two brothers Raymond C. Nelson and wife Shirley and David C. Hoyle and wife Carrie, both of Hemphill. She is also survived by 13 nieces, nine nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Visitation services are Friday, Sept. 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 and funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 23 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Hemphill.
