Margaret Laurinda Pinney
Margaret Laurinda Pinney, 72, of Hemphill, passed away on March 1, 2024. She was born on June 2, 1951, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Shepherd Matthew Pinney, Sr. and Bertha Pauline Mann Thompson. Margaret resided in Sabine County since 2020 and previously in Cheyenne, WY from 1979 to 2020. She served the military community through her dedicated work in retail with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES).
Margaret had a green thumb and found joy in cultivating flowers and plants. She cherished lake views, watching deer in the yard, and had a passion for music and dancing.
She is survived by her son, Shepherd Matthew Pinney, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Bossier City, LA, daughters, Michelle Ammerman and her husband, Kent, of Kannapolis, NC, and Melissa Tyson and her husband, Wade, of Hemphill, sister Patsy Donaldson and her husband, James, of Kingsport, TN, special friend, Roseleah Burrows, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends, as well as her beloved Pomeranian, Bella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shepherd Matthew Pinney, Sr. and sister, Carolyn Bruce.
Memorial services for Margaret will be announced at a later date.
Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas, is assisting with the arrangements.
