John Byron Wolfe, Sr., 80, of Hemphill, passed away peacefully at his home on May 19, 2024. He was born on March 12, 1944 in Houston, to Aubrey Odell and Gertrude Boyett Wolfe. John was a lifetime resident of Sabine County. Before retiring, he worked for the telephone company for several years before transitioning to Pipeline Inspection, taking him all over the country and overseas as well. JB was a loving father, grandfather and wonderful friend. He was an avid animal lover who gave his all in taking care of his beloved Buddy and Brandi.

John was proceeded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Gertrude Wolfe and wife, Terri Wolfe.

Byron is survived by his sister, Karen Coon of Hemphill; his sons, John Byron Wolfe, Jr., Jeff Wolfe and wife, Rachel, Jason Wolfe and Ben Wolfe, all of Hemphill; grandchildren, Cierra, Kaylee, Kennley, Chelsea, Jayla, Chelsey, Corbin and Chloe; and great grandchildren, Asher, Aubrey and Everleigh.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2024 at the home of John Wolfe, Jr., 285 Mountain Meadow Circle, Hemphill, Texas. Please come and celebrate and share your stories and escapades. We know everyone has memories with Pop and we would love to hear them. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
