Joe Donny Crowell, 76, of Milam, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Hospice in the Pines in Lufkin. Donny was born on March 31, 1948, in Beaumont, to Clenest Crowell and Betty Jo Smith Crowell. A lifelong resident of Sabine County, he dedicated 38 years of his career as the Water Plant Superintendent for the City of Hemphill. He was a member of Geneva Baptist Church and found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and following college basketball.

Donny is survived by his boys: Josh Ezernack and wife, Robin, of Bronson; Cody Gaspard and wife, Kandace, of Palestine; and Drew Ezernack of Huntington. He is also survived by his brother, Ronny Crowell and wife, Frankie, of Pineland; sisters, Cynthia Spell of Lumberton and Barbara Clements of Palatine, IL; his nieces and nephews: Tim, Rob, Stephen, Darren, Shannon, Heather, Sherry, Kristal, and Christie; and his beloved babies: Jace, Elly, Sylvie, Harper, Charlie Faye, and Wyatt Drake.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas. Bro. Shannon Crowell and Bro. Floyd Wright will officiate.

Visitation began at 12:00 p.m. until the service. Burial fllowed at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva with Timmy Ezernack, Ray Sepulvado, Glenn McDaniel, Jimmy Frick, Gary Frick, and Darren Chane serving as pallbearers.
