Jason Phillip Dickerson
Jason Phillip Dickerson, of Pineland, passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 46 in Hemphill. Born on October 10, 1979, in Jasper, Jason was a cherished member of his community and a lifelong resident of Pineland. A graduate of West Sabine High School, Class of 1998, Jason quickly embraced the trade of welding. His career in construction led him to various locations until he settled at Cypress Bayou Metal Fabrication, where he spent the last decade as the mechanical shop superintendent. Jason was not only dedicated to his profession but also to nurturing young minds, evident from his years coaching baseball and softball for his children.
Jason's personal life was filled with joyous moments with his family and engaging in his favorite hobbies, which included fishing, deer hunting, and his favorite, hog hunting. He also found pleasure in maintaining his yard, a simple yet fulfilling activity he cherished.
Jason is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Christy Dickerson of Pineland; daughter, Montana Bockel and spouse, Moe, of San Augustine; son, Cayne Dickerson of Pineland; grandsons, Cooper Edgar, Fletcher Edgar, and Ryder Smith; parents, Jerry Dickerson and wife, Matilda, of Pineland; grandmother, Madeline Dickerson of Pineland; father-in-law, Douglas Howard, Sr. of Donie, Texas; brothers-in-law, Douglas Howard, Jr. and wife, Brandi, of Spring, and Michael Howard and wife, Theresa, of Centerville; aunts, Vicki Armstrong and husband, Sonny, of Pineland and Linda King of Appleby; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Mack Dickerson; mother-in-law, Shirley Howard; uncles, Tommy King and William King; and cousin, Billy Joe Williams.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Burl McBride.
Burial will follow at Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Pineland. Serving as pallbearers are Ray Craig, Joey Quick, Michael Lambright, Chris Jones, Jason Clegg, Brett Heiss, Cecil Caswell, Blake Buxton, and Dylan Smith.
