Ida Mae Beard, 64, of Pineland, passed away peacefully at Sabine County Hospital on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Born on November 20, 1960, in Jasper, Ida was the daughter of John Vaniel Beard and Myrtle Rayburn Thompson Beard. She grew up in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School before making her home in Pineland, where she resided for over thirty years.

Ida had a passion for crafting, finding joy and creativity in her hobbies. She will be remembered fondly by those who knew her for her quiet strength and the care she put into everything she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Lee Beard. She is survived by her sisters, Jane Speight of Pineland and Mary Covington of Royse City, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Starr Funeral Home, located at 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Starr Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation (Attn: Donor Services, 3540 Crain Highway Suite 675, Bowie, MD 20716) or the Craniofacial Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
