Glenn Arthur Phillips
Glenn Arthur Phillips of Hemphill passed away early Monday, October 24, at Hemphill Care Center at the age of 81 years, 1 month. He was born September 24, 1941, in Many, La., to parents Winnie Lee (Livingston) and George Washington Phillips. He had lived in Sabine County most of his life and retired as a welder from Temple-Inland, Pineland, after several years of service.
His survivors include his sisters, Libby Jones and Georgia Phillips; a brother, Willie Phillips; brother-in-law, Earl White; sister-in-law, Helen White; cousins, Jimmy Phillips and Shorty Phillips; his beloved fur baby, 'Sassy;' and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie (White) Phillips, on November 27, 2021; his parents, George and Winnie Phillips; brothers, Earl Phillips and Hershell Phillips; a sister, Rachel Phillips; brothers-in-law, Bobby White and Burl White; and sisters-in-law, Jean White and Mary Ann White.
Graveside services were Oct. 26, at the Plainview Cemetery, located at the intersection of FM 1 and FM 2024.
Pallbearers: Kenneth Brodie, Sam DuBose, Nason Helmer, Rocky Welch, Hunter Ridley, and Brendan Brister. Honorary pallbearer: Tuck Brodie.
