Gladys Faye Lynch
Sister Gladys Faye Lynch was born on April 9, 1957 to the late Hilliot and Alice Gordon. She departed this life Monday, May 27, 2024. She united with Knox Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Fobb and remain there until her untimely death under the leadership of Pastor Darrell Holmes. Gladys were a member of the Knox Chapel Baptist Church Usher Board and the Program Committee.
She was a 1975 graduate of Hemphill High School. Gladys enjoyed cooking and always blessing someone with a meal. She was loved by all that knew her. She had a heart of gold and was active in the community and always lending a helping hand anyway she could. Gladys was a home health provider to the elderly in Many, La.
Gladys was preceded in death by her son, Lennon “Chris” Johnson, Jr., her grandmother, Alice Winn, her niece, Marisa Ward and her brothers, George Gordon and Robert W. Gordon.
She leaves to cherish her memories a special daughter/niece, Iyuana Gordon, grandchildren, LaShawna Johnson (Chris) of Austin, Shania Ballard (Tyler) of Lufkin, Christina Ward of Pineland, Lennon “Chris” Johnson II of Hemphill, and great granddaughter, Everleigh Johnson. Her sisters, Savannah Green of Shreveport, La, Berdia Gallien of Alexandria, La, and Agnes Green of Many, La. Her brothers, Phillip Gordon and Gerald Thomas both of Hemphill, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
