Ella Lou Jean Rainwater
Ella Lou Jean Rainwater, 83, of Hemphill, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family Monday evening, May 29, 2023. She was born in Beaumont, on November 1, 1939 to Wallace Judalet and and Eva McBride Judalet. She was a resident of Reeves, LA before moving to Sabine County in 1983. She was a loving mother, grandmother, homemaker and caregiver. She was a lady with a feisty spirit. She was never still, always doing things that she loved to do, mowing the yard being one of her favorites. She was a very talented seamstress who loved quilting, making countless quilts for friends, loved ones and new babies. She enjoyed gardening, often out first thing in the mornings, weeding and tending to her garden, then on to canning everything that she harvested. She was a beloved Maw Maw who loved spending time with her family and her son-in-law, Squeaky, with whom she had a special friendship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Rainwater; her twin brother, Bobby Judalet; and brothers, Frank 'Doodle' Judalet and Wallace Judalet; and sisters, Adalene Rainwater and Era Mae Blincoe.
She is survived by her sons, Clint James Rainwater and wife, Debbie, of Cut Off, LA and Frank Barlow Rainwater and wife, Stacey, of Katy; daughters, Debbie Rainwater and husband, Clint, of Cut Off, LA, Donna Billiot and husband, Ricky, of Cut Off, Kim Anderson and husband, Tracy, of Houston, Connie Watson of Cut Off, and Tammy Starr and husband, John 'Squeaky', of Hemphill; brothers, Billy Judalet and wife, Dianne, of Woodville and David Judalet and wife, Helen, also of Woodville; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services was held, May 31, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.
Burial followed services in Low's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
