Daphne Rene' Rash
Daphne Rene' Rash, aged 69, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Kirbyville. Born on October 1, 1956, in Houston, to Harry Polk Rash, Jr. and Norma Grace Fort Rash, Daphne grew up to be a cherished member of her community. She graduated from West Sabine High School and spent many years in Kirbyville since 2007, having previously lived in Belton and Silsbee. Daphne worked diligently as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), dedicating many years to the health and well-being of others. Her passion for helping people was paralleled by her love for crafting, which included sewing, painting, making jewelry, and quilting. She also had a profound love for cooking, often sharing her culinary creations with family and friends.
Daphne was a faithful attendee of The Master's Table Independent Full Gospel Baptist Church and Kirbyville Apostolic Church, where she found spiritual solace and community.
She is survived by her daughters, Jamie Montgomery and husband, Robert, and Audrey Dodd and husband, Ronnie Burnett, all of Roganville; brother, Thomas Paul Rash and wife, Sheila, of Beebe, Arkansas; sister, Sharon Reid Perimon and husband, John, of Hemphill; adopted sister, Rebecca Grisham of Silsbee; grandchildren, Ross Whitehead, Sierra Whitehead, Drake Burnett, Henry Burnett, Jesse Shaw, Makayla Jones, Aydden Montgomery, Brodey Montgomery, Colt Burnett, Hunter Burnett, and Hunter Montgomery; and great grandchildren, Maxton, Ember, Gracie, Hensleigh, Dylan Jr., Beaux, Waylon, Kohen, Asher, Weston, Grayson, and Waylon. Daphne was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, 2358 CR454, in Kirbyville, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home, Hemphill, Texas, with Rev. Delton Rice, D.D. officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Robert Montgomery, Ross Whitehead, Drake Burnett, Paul Rash, Kenneth Rash, and Daniel Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Aydden Montgomery, Brodey Montgomery and Jesse Shaw.
Daphne's family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Olive Branch Hospice Nurses Terri Holland, Logan Michel, and Ashley Adams for all the love and care given to Daphne in her time of need.
Daphne's life was a testament to her love for her family, her dedication to her community, and her faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
