Clovis M. Conner, 104, of Hemphill, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hemphill.

She was born in Carthage, on Feb. 22, 1918, to James Alvin Harley and Eula Brown Harley. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and was a loving mother and grandmother. She came from a large family of six sisters and one brother. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending her time with all her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Strickland Crossing Church of God.

She is survived by her son, Bob Conner and wife, Annette, of Hemphill; daughter, Jackie Merritt and husband, Telvin, of Many, LA; daughter-in-law, Sissy of Houston; grandchildren, Dawn, Marcie, Charles, Pat, Jymann, Shelly, Brandon, Cody, Clint and Lisa; 20 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Conner

Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Moody and Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Burial followed services in Lott Cemetery, off FM 2024 in Pineland, with Brandon Merritt, Cody Conner, Clint Conner, Hunter Conner, Brady Welch, Cade Procell and Sam Welch serving as pallbearers.
