Christine Williams
Christine Williams, known affectionately as Christy, passed away on December 13, 2025, in Hemphill, at the age of 75. Born on March 17, 1950, in Bronson, to Wilford Weldon King and Johnnie Mae Byley King, she was a beloved figure in her community and a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Christy dedicated many years of her career as an operator at Temple Inland. Her commitment to family and community shone brightly, particularly through her roles as a loving mother, grandmother, and caregiver. Christy was a devoted member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church at Plainview, where she found great solace and fellowship.
She was known for her generous spirit, often shopping for others, and her love for gardening was evident in her ability to grow almost anything. Christy also enjoyed dining out, with Outback Steak House being a favored choice.
Christy is survived by her sons, Jamie Williams and his wife, Lisa, of Hemphill, and Bryan Williams and his wife, Lara, of Bronson; daughter, Shellie Dorsey and her husband, Benji, of Milam; sisters, Ernestine Smith of Pineland and Tricia Conn and her husband, Billy, of Hemphill. She also leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren, Peyton Williams and wife, Skye, Cambree Williams, Avree Williams, Braxton Williams and Zhian Balingkit, Dylon Williams and wife, MaKayla, Kacee Williams and husband, Shykeem, Brady Williams and fiancé, Cloe Blackburn, Kallie Dorsey and husband, Ghassan Hassoon and Little Ben Dorsey, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Gattlyn, Iris, Oscar Van, Walker, Matthew, MaKenna, Oaklee, S. J., Yusuf, and Yasseen.
Preceding her in death were her parents, W.W. and Johnnie Mae King, and her beloved husband, Van Williams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Floyd Wright and Bro. Wayne Alford.
Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Pallbearers include Peyton Williams, Dylon Williams, Ben Dorsey, Brady Williams, Travis Dorsey, and Jacob Dorsey.
