Charles Edwin Johnson, Sr., 67, of San Augustine, passed away July 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born March 1, 1956 in Lockney, TX to Lyndall Edwin Johnson and Wanda Eloyse Moon Johnson. He was a lifetime resident of San Augustine and had worked as a lineman for the City Electrical Department and was also a heavy equipment operator. He was a Christian man who was a loving husband, father, PawPaw and Pupsipup. He was a good man that enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, spending as much time as possible on Lake Sam Rayburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyndall and Wanda Johnson and brother, Curtis Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Armanda Johnson of San Augustine; son, Charles 'Chuck' Edwin Johnson, Jr. of Nacogdoches; daughters, Tabitha Allen of San Augustine, Regina Amburn and husband, Josh, of San Augustine and Ashley Meshell of Pineland; sisters, Kathy Hussey of San Augustine and Gay Neal of Buna; and grandchildren, Taelyn, Jamison, Joshua, and Leighlah.

Funeral services were held July 6 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, TX, with Bro. Jonny Bishop officiating.

Cremation arrangements will then be handled by Starr Funeral Home.
