Billie Rose (Birdwell) Patterson, 92, of Bronson passed away Saturday, Oct. 21. She was born March 10, 1931, in Bronson to parents Clarice (Crocker) and Samuel Birdwell. She and James Patterson were married in 1947 and lived in Beaumont for 33 years. Upon retirement they returned here to their farm. Their greatest joy was spending time with friends and family at their country home. They became faithful members of Pineland's First Methodist Church.

Survivors include children, Brenda Chirafis and husband Michael of China, Texas, and James Patterson Jr. and wife Dodi of Wimberly, three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Patterson, in 2012; parents, Samuel Birdwell and Clarice Skinner; brother, Tex Birdwell; and sister, Patsy Hardy.

Services are being held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 , at Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel, San Augustine, with Rev. Alberto Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Little Flock Cemetery near Bronson.
