Barbara Jean 'Barbie' Brymer, aged 68, of Hemphill, passed away on November 9, 2025. Born on February 4, 1957, in Baytown, to Lynn Everett Brymer and Eleanor Ruth Musil Brymer, Barbie spent her early years in Baytown before moving to Hemphill, where she lived for 12 years. Barbie was a cherished member of the Pine Park United Pentecostal Church in Hemphill. She dedicated much of her time to the Pine Park Ladies Auxiliary and was known as a fervent prayer warrior. Her faith and church community were central to her life.

Professionally, Barbie was committed to the hospitality industry, working diligently as a waitress and later as a restaurant manager. Her warmth and welcoming nature made her a beloved figure among colleagues and patrons alike.

Barbie's love extended to her family and her beloved cat, Sassy. She enjoyed cooking for her family, creating meals that brought everyone together in joy and fellowship.

She is survived by her brothers, John W. Brymer and his wife, Julie Kirk Brymer, and David L. Brymer and his wife, Lisa Kirk Brymer; her nephew, Kenneth Lynn Brymer; and nieces, Amy Ayala, Typhani Stanbaugh, Evelynn Esparza, Sarah Dockery, and Abby Kirk. Barbie was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Hurshe, and her brother, Kenneth Brymer.

Visitation for Barbie will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will commence at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation, with Bro. Rex White officiating. Barbie will be laid to rest at Hemphill Cemetery following the services.
