Allen Thomas Wiley, 77, passed away on July 15, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born April 12, 1949, in Houston, to Dick Wiley and Emily Wood Wiley, he grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, eventually making his home in Benton.

Allen attended LSU and received a master's degree in wood technology. Then he attended Texas A&M where he received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Allen had a fulfilling career and worked at Temple Inland in Pineland and Diboll, Brown and Root in Houston, Bowlin Company in Shreveport, HGA in Ruston and Johnson and Pace in Benton. He loved being a mechanical engineer.

After graduating high school, he hitchhiked across the United States just for the adventure. He loved to travel, especially with the love of his life, Barbara. They made many trips in their motorhome with their pets, Cammy, LuLu, Carmen and Domino.

Allen leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara Wiley; sons, Richard Wiley and Scot Gooch and wife, Shellie; daughter, Caterina Pearson and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Colby Pearson and wife, Chloe. Ty Pearson and wife, Heather, Alexis Dragon and husband, Trenton, Colton Gooch and Justice Gooch; great grandchildren, Kreed Pearson, Kross Pearson, Evelyn Pearson and Landry Dragon; sister, Lucy Wiley as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Emily Wiley; father-in-law, Robert L. Green and mother-in-law, Juanita Green.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.

Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. following visitation in Oakhill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. John Warner officiating.

Allen will truly be missed by all who loved him. He was a wonderful husband, dad, Pappy, Happy, uncle and friend. He recently accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior so we know he will spend his eternity in Heaven.
