AJ (Alvis) Jacks passed away peacefully April 3, 2026.

AJ was born October 23, 1949, in Kirbyville . He lived there all through high school. AJ joined the Navy. He married Wanda Kay Pipes, whom he lost after 11 years of marriage.

He later married Teresa K Holleman on February 17, 1984. AJ and Teresa moved to North Dakota with their two daughters and lived in Kenmare where they later adopted another daughter. They moved to Bismarck in 2006. AJ then moved to MN in February 2020.

AJ loved old fashioned cars, and he loved driving Semitruck. He was a semi-truck driver for 18 years and loved driving through all the states and seeing the country. AJ was a Vietnam Veteran and was proud of his service that earned several honors.

Most of all, AJ loved his family. He loved his family and grandchildren with all his heart. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. AJ was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. We will always cherish the calmness, logical, and compassionate man he always was.

He will be sincerely missed. We love you whole bunches! He is survived by his daughters; Brenda (Cade) Wahl, Cora (Mike) Crandall, Charleen Jacks, and Windy (Rich) Egeberg, Grandchildren; Levi Mees, Kylie Mees, Benjamin Crandall, Josephine Crandall, Emerson Sedlemeyer, Evelyn Sedlemeyer, Magnolia Sedlemeyer, Aurelia Sedlemeyer, Juniper Sedlemeyer, Nate Egeberg, Charity Wrolson, Griffin Nelson, Havanah Nelson, Kenzie Egeberg, Keira Egeberg, Levi Egeberg, and Bristol Egeberg, Sisters; Shirley Plotts of Amarillo and Nelda Gragert of Brazoria.

He is preceded in death by his 1st Wife; Wanda Kay (Pipes) Jacks, 2nd Wife; Teresa Kay (Holleman) Jacks, Mother; Twillie (Cox) Jacks and Father; Fred Jacks, Brothers; Fred (Lora) Jacks Jr., Steve Jacks, Mike (Deborah) Jacks, Sister; Linda (Bob) Lutz, Brothers in Law; Art Plotts and Earl Gragert.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill.

Graveside services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Jacks Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home. Memories and condolences may be shared at starrfuneralhome. com.
