Johnny James Ford, 61, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, in Sabine County Hospital. He was born in San Augustine, on Dec. 10, 1960, to Paul Gene Ford and Eva Dell Bragg Ford. He was a graduate of West Sabine High School and later worked for almost 25 years for Deep East Texas Electric Co-Op as a lineman. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and he was the type of man who never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and all kinds of hunting. He also enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his grandson, Dalton and he attended Riverside Gospel Assembly Church in Milam.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, JoAnn Ford of Bronson; mother, Eva Dell Shoemaker and husband, Roger Tom of Milam; grandmother, Evelyn Bragg of Milam; son, Jeremy Ford of San Marcos; daughter, Jessica Ford of San Augustine; brothers, Tony Ford and wife, Myrtie, of Bronson and Wyndell Ford and wife, Tina, also of Bronson; grandson, Dalton Sowell of San Augustine; and many more friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Gene Ford; brother, Lacy Ford; and PaPaw, George Bragg.

Funeral services were held Sept. 23, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Bragg officiating.

Burial followed services in Little Flock Cemetery with Chris Ford, Marlon Ford, Nick Key, Tony 'Little Man' Ford, Craig Ford, Jason Butler and Aaron Skogen serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers is Marcus Key, Billy Crow and Whit Michalec.
