Sylvia May Sonnier, 76, of Broaddus, Texas passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Lufkin. She was born in Cincinnati, on Sept. 25, 1945 to Harold Barton and Wanda May Harrison Barton. She was a 24 year resident of Broaddus, having previously resided in Nederland and was a member of St. Pius I Catholic Church in Hemphill. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved to cook. You would never leave her house hungry. She was also an excellent seamstress and she loved all animals and people. She was always willing to help out people any way she could and she had a great outlook on life.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Wayne Sonnier of Broaddus; son, Michael Wayne Sonnier, also of Broaddus; sister, Wanda May Riha; and half-brothers, Larry Wright, Richard Lee Wright and Mark Allen Wright.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
