Dewey Calvin Wells Sr., 86, of Broaddus, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Huntington. Wells, born January 14, 1940, in Broaddus, was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Lufkin Industries Inc. Survivors: wife of 61 years, Maudie Wells; children, Dewey Wells Jr. and wife Michelle of Lufkin and daughter, Donna Scott and Jay Cure of Broaddus; brother, James Wells and wife Betty of Broaddus; grandchildren, Jared Scott, Kellie Thomas, Shandale Wells, Rusty Wells, and Brandon Wells; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Lucius 'Bunch' Wells; several siblings; and son-in-law, David Scott.

A Celebration of Life was held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel, San Augustine, with Bro. T.A. Lane officiating and private inurnment at Broaddus Cemetery.
