Billy Richard McClelland went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2026, at the age of 89 years and 7 months surround by his children and brother, Bobby. Born at home January 24, 1937, in Bronson, he was the son of Richard Tommy (RT) McClelland and Pharby Jane McClelland. Billy spent his entire life in Bronson, where he attended Bronson High School. After schooling, he embarked on a career as a carpenter, a trade he practiced for over four decades. In his younger years, Billy worked alongside his father and brother, hauling dirt and rocks across various counties. Known for his deep love for his family, Billy cherished moments with his children and grandchildren. Upon retiring, he took pleasure in crafting birdhouses and pioneer wagons, which he sold at local feed and hardware stores. He enjoyed camping by the lake and traveling to Arkansas and Galveston. Billy was also known for his playful picking and playing among friends and loved ones and was a devout member of the Broaddus Pentecostal Church.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Patsy McClelland, and his parents. He is survived by his brother, Bobby Ray McClelland of Bronson; sons, Mike Hammock and wife, Faye, of Kissimmee, FL, and Ricky McClelland and wife, Julie, of Bronson; daughters, Brenda Crow and husband, Jim, of Bronson, Tammie Covington and husband, Johny, of Center, and Arlene Parrish and husband, Royce, of Bronson. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his grandchildren, Jana Keele and husband, Ryan, Joel Covington and wife, Casey, Hannah Elliott and husband, Kenneth, Jonathan Allen, Brandy Crow, Jimbo Crow and wife, Kayla, Angie White, Amber Havard, Amanda Hammock, Megan Cain and husband, Kurt, and Aaron McClelland; 22 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-granchildren.

Visitation for Billy will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jathan Green and Bro. Mark Green officiating.

Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joel Covington, Jimbo Crow, Jonathan Allen, Aaron McClelland, Johny Covington, and Royce Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Elliott and Kurt Cain.

Starr Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Billy's life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
