Kenneth Paul Nethery, known affectionately as Ken, passed away in Lufkin, on August 4, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 14, 1945, in Milam, to Charles Alexander Nethery and Bernice Self Nethery, Ken spent his early years in Milam, eventually graduating from Hemphill High School, class of 1964. He furthered his education at Texas A&M, earning a bachelor's degree which paved the way for his future career. Ken dedicated many years of his professional life as an accountant for Elliott's Agri Service and Living Earth, bringing meticulousness and integrity to his role. His commitment to service was also evident through his military career, where he served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and patriotism.

A long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church, Ken was deeply rooted in his faith and community. His love for life was contagious, and his hobbies reflected his zest. A passionate supporter of the Aggies sports teams, Ken also cherished the time spent at the deer camp with his boys and was an enthusiastic traveler. His annual trips to Aruba were among the highlights of his year.

Ken's personal life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Laura Nethery of Brookeland; sons, Eric Nethery of Katy, Matthew Nethery and wife, Ginger, of Milam, and Zachary Nethery and wife, Kim, of Amarillo; brother, Jim Nethery and wife, Susan, of Milam; and sister, Pat Roberts and husband, Robbie, of Milam. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Sherri Boyd and husband, Dylan, Jacob Nethery, Aaron Nethery and wife, Kaitlyn, and David Brunet and wife, Kortney; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Baylor, Sadie, Zoey, Kylynn, Kyndall, Kamee, and Derrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bernice Nethery; first wife, Linda Innerarity Nethery; and sister, Janet Olive.

Visitation for Ken will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.

The funeral services will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Lonnie Crawford with a eulogy by Eric Nethery.

Burial will follow at Milam Cemetery, with Eric Nethery, Matthew Nethery, Zachary Nethery, Ross Nethery, Jacob Nethery, Aaron Nethery and Phillip Bohannon will serve as pallbearers.

Ken's life was a testament to his strong character, love for his family, and his unwavering faith, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
