Barbara Kay Brewer-Lowe passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 70 in Brookeland. Born on August 1, 1955, in Kirbyville, to Lester Shelton Huff and Frances Lynch Huff, Barbara lived a life marked by devotion to her family and a passion for the simple pleasures in life. Barbara spent 25 years as a beloved member of the Brookeland community, having previously resided in Call. Known for her love of fishing, Barbara also enjoyed playing pool, dominoes, and Wahoo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cherished dogs.

A dedicated homemaker, Barbara nurtured her family with love and care throughout her life. She found spiritual solace and community at the Cowboy Church in Pineland.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Bubba Carpenter and wife, Stephanie, of San Augustine, Tommy Lowe, and Clifford Lowe, both of Brookeland; daughters, Samantha Carpenter of Brookeland, Debra Lowe of Hemphill, and Kathy Morton and husband, John, of Brookeland; brother, Willie Huff and wife, Glenda, of Call; sisters, Thelma Jacks and Cliffie Frazier, both of Devils Pocket, and Becky Hatfield of Call. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Cayla Burleson and husband, Josh, Hunter Carpenter and wife, Zariah, Elizabeth Carpenter, Makenah Carpenter, Blake Fountain and wife, Laura, and Carly Stowe and husband, Shawn; and great-grandchildren, Sora, Sebastian, Za'mariaun, Zen'layiah, Za'Koda, Logan, Luke, Sam, and the soon-to-arrive Luna.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lester and Frances Huff; husband, Manuel Buck Lowe; brother, Howard Huff; son, Jeffery Wayne Carpenter and grandson, Feral Stowe.

Details regarding the memorial services will be announced at a later date. Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Barbara's warmth, generosity, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
