Eric Alan Bishop
Eric Alan Bishop, 54, of Hemphill, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Dallas. Born on October 1, 1971, in Corpus Christi, to Rodney and Karen Murray Bishop, Eric spent his life deeply rooted in his community and family. Eric moved to Hemphill in 1998, where he was owner/operator of Toledo RV Sales. A devoted husband and father, Eric's greatest joy came from spending quality time with his sons, Gavin Michael Bishop and Brady Thomas Bishop, engaging in activities like playing video games and assisting Gavin in building a cabin.
Eric cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as reading and spending time at the beach, embodying a blend of tranquility and adventure. His love and laughter brought light to those around him, creating lasting memories in the hearts of friends and family.
He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 27 years, Shannon Hamilton Bishop; his parents, Rodney and Karen Bishop; his sons, Gavin Bishop and Brady Bishop; and his sister, Audra Bishop of Fort Worth. He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Debra Parks and husband, Gary and Tina Adair and husband, Tracy, brother-in-law, Joe Hamilton and wife, Stacey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sidney and Amelia Bishop, and Erwin and Dorothy Murray; in-laws, Robert and Frances Hamilton; and uncle, Donald Bishop.
Memorial services for Eric will be announced at a later date. Handling arrangements is Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas. Eric's life and legacy will be honored and cherished by all who knew him.
