Denise Carolyn Edgley, aged 62, passed away on June 1, 2026, in Hemphill. Born on July 29, 1963, in Liberty, she was the daughter of James Ray Hudnall and Nancy Carolyn Tyler Hudnall.

Denise was a longtime resident of Batson, before moving to Hemphill two years ago. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to caring for others as a nurse's aide in various nursing homes. Denise was known for her exceptional cooking skills and her love for fishing, which brought her great joy.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Hudnall of Friendswood; her longtime significant other of 27 years, Pete Rhoden; her son, Timothy Thompson and his wife, Amber, of Wiergate; daughters, Brandi Lange and her husband, Tyson, of Marana, AZ, and Kristan Thompson of Crosby; brother, Jimmy Hudnall and his wife, Tanya, of Huntsville; sisters, Vicki Trantham and her husband, Larry, of Friendswood, Veronica Edge and her husband, Steve, of Norman, OK, and Nicole Hudnall of Galveston. Denise was a cherished grandmother to James-Austin, Joell, Bradley, Emma, Seth, Lacy, Karren, Hailey, and Yaya, and a great-grandmother to Kayden, Clara, JJ, Luke, and Hayden. She was preceded in death by her father, James Ray Hudnall.

Denise was a member of the Christian faith, which guided her throughout her life.
