Michael Keith Johnson, called Keith by all his family and friends, passed away on May 6, 2026, in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, at the age of 77. Born on January 31, 1949, in Pineland, he was the son of Carroll Lopez Johnson and Willie Ester Parker Johnson.

Keith spent the majority of his life in his hometown of Pineland, before moving to Cherry Valley, Arkansas, in his later years. Keith was baptized at First Baptist Church in Pineland and graduated from West Sabine High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Keith embarked on a long career as a truck driver, a job he dedicated many years to with great diligence and commitment.

Keith loved spending time with his family and friends over the years doing things like going out boat riding every Sunday, motorcycle trips and going out to a good restaurant. He enjoyed listening to old records and helping people out whenever he could. The best thing that he liked to do was argue with his brothers, Buddy and Randy. Sometimes he would just wink and say, 'Watch this' just to see them go at it. He didn't mind talking to someone and giving advice because he was always right, of course, because he was a Johnson. He will be missed and he knew that he was loved, and we knew he loved us.

Keith leaves behind a loving family, including his brother, Randy Johnson and his wife, Jewel, of Pineland; nephews, Spencer Johnson, Harlan Johnson and his wife, Cathy, Butch Johnson and his wife Marie, and Joe Johnson and his wife, Kimberly; nieces, Kristy Shivers and her husband, Brandon, Kelli Farajdo and her husband, Rafa, Carrie Johnson, Kayla Willis and her husband, Steve, and Sydney Johnson; as well as a slew of great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind cherished friends, Scott Roland and Rodney Burch. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Estill Johnson, and his brothers, Charles 'Buddy' Johnson, Paul Johnson, Milton Johnson, and Tommy Johnson.

Funeral services for Keith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, located at 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas, with Cecil Paul Mott officiating.

Visitation will take place on the same day from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pineland. Pallbearers include Randy Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Rodney Burch, Butch Ellison, Mike Pate, and Mark Russell. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Harlan Johnson.

Arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home. Keith's life and legacy are celebrated by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
