Karen Elizabeth Harris
Karen Elizabeth Harris of Hemphill, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Longview, at the age of 68. She was born on April 11, 1957, in Tampa, Florida to Billy Fyfe and Valeria Lambrecht Fyfe, Karen spent many years in Houston, before moving to Sabine County where she spent the last two decades of her life. Karen dedicated many years to the home health care industry as a home health aide, demonstrating a profound commitment to the well-being of others. Her devotion extended into her spiritual life as well. A devout Catholic, Karen was a faithful servant who lived her life for the Lord, actively participating in her community at St. Pius Catholic Church in Hemphill.
Family and friends were the most important things in Karen's life. She is survived by her son, Kevin Braun and his wife, Nicole; brothers, Steven Fyfe and his wife, Susan, and Jeffrey Fyfe and his wife, Connie; sisters, Jennifer Jaynes and her husband, Robert, and Christie Rice and her husband, Trevor; grandchildren, Autumn Leigh Braun and Ella Rose Braun; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews who loved here dearly.
Karen was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Billy and Betty Fyfe; mother, Valeria Lambrecht; and brothers, Michael Fyfe and Edward Fyfe.
Karen's love of animals, music, and dancing brought great joy to her life and those around her, enriching every gathering.
A Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius I Catholic Church, 309 Starr Street in Hemphill under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Father Emmanuel officiating the ceremonies.
