Judith Carolyn “Judy” Soucie (née Snider), 79, of San Augustine passed away March 3, 2026. A memorial service was held March 6, 2026, at Liberty Hill Cemetery, San Augustine. Judy was one of two children born to Daisy Goings Snider and Euell Elton “Buck” Snider in Shelby County on May 21, 1946. In 1979, Judy received her teacher’s certification and was a devoted educator throughout her career. She served as principal of Brookeland High School in Sabine County before retiring in 2009.

She married Arnold Patrick Soucie in 1996, and his family became her own. After their retirement, they spent 3-4 months a year at their cabin on the lake, enjoying both the company of the Soucie family and the natural beauty of Maine. He preceded her in death in 2022.

Survivors: daughter, Michelle Anderson of Austin; son, Wayne Grissom and wife Alyssa of Lufkin; grandchildren, Alexandra Anderson, Andrew Soucie, Ashton Grissom, and Abbie Grissom; and sister-in-law, Ruth Snider.
