Thelma Louise Frick
Thelma Louise Frick, 77, of Hemphill, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2025, at her residence. Born in Waverly, Ohio, on January 12, 1948, to Ronald Oxier and Neva Brown Oxier, Thelma was a native of Ohio who later moved to Pasadena, before settling in Sabine County in 1978. She was an owner/receptionist for Frick Sanitation for many years and worked in the nursing field, running several businesses from floral to sanitation work. A devoted Christian, Thelma was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church in Milam. She was known for her kindness and willingness to help others, often taking in strays and caring for those in need. She enjoyed gardening, collecting things, reading her Bible, and cooking.
After retiring, she did the things that she enjoyed alongside her life partner and husband, Clarence.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bernal and husband, Clayton, of Hemphill; sons, George Frick and wife, Tiffany, of Jacksonville, NC, and John Michael Frick of Hemphill; brother, Ronald Oxier of Beaver, Ohio; sisters, Wilma McDowell and husband, David, of Ohio, and Tressie Evans of Hemphill. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jessica Powers, Sherry Conelius, C.J. Bernal, Megan Frick-Clark, Morgan Frick, Donald Frick, Marcus Frick, and Wyatt Frick; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Powers, Madison Dutton, Avery Clark, Skyler Easterling, Bayley Easterling, Arron Easterling, Chevy Bernal, and Kylee Bernal and great great grandchildren, Augustus Lux, Wrenlye Tranbarger and Evie Cooley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clarence Eugene Frick, who passed away on July 30, 2022; her brother, John Oxier; and her sister, Christine Stapleton.
