Jimmy Roland Huffman, Sr., 80, of Hemphill, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Legacies Nursing Home in Hemphill. Born on March 10, 1945, in Hemphill to John Riley Huffman and Viola McGee Huffman, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. He dedicated more than six decades to his work as the owner-operator of Jimmy Huffman Logging, a business he built and sustained through tireless effort and commitment. Known for his strong work ethic, Jimmy was rarely idle and took great pride in his profession.

Beyond his dedication to logging, Jimmy found joy in tending to his cows and spending time outdoors. His connection to the land and his community remained steadfast throughout his life.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 60 years, June Huffman of Hemphill; sons, Jimmy Huffman, Jr. and wife, Frances, of Hemphill, Ricky Huffman of Hemphill, and Jason Huffman and wife, Angel, of Jasper; daughter, Janice Huffman of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Matthew Quick officiating.

Burial will follow in Hemphill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Huffman, John Huffman, Jake Huffman, Bryan Smith, Lance Sarver, and Dakota Trotter.
