Truman Durwood Anderson, Jr.
Truman Durwood 'Bobby' Anderson, Jr., 71, of Brookeland, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, in San Augustine. Bobby was born on November 21, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Truman Durwood Anderson, Sr., and Barbara Ann Grey. A longtime resident of Crystal Beach, he spent the past three years in Brookeland. He proudly served in the United States Army in Germany and later attended Lamar University. Bobby built a career as a carpenter and designer in the construction industry, leaving his mark on Crystal Beach through the shopping centers and homes he helped create.
Known for his generous spirit and love for the 'beach life,' Bobby was cherished by those who knew him. He was voted 'King of PNG' during his senior year in 1970 at Port Neches-Groves High School. His kindness and unique personality made a lasting impression on many.
Bobby is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Wickler of Brookeland; his son, Cody Dale Anderson and wife, Allyson, of Baytown; his daughter, Heather Cary and husband, Steve, of Houston; his sisters, Liz Gilchrist and husband, Steve, and Becky Word and husband, Wayne, all of Brookeland, and Missy Dover of New Caney; his grandson, Damien Cary of Houston; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews, and beloved aunts and uncles.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Starr Funeral Home.
His memory will be treasured by those who knew him as they honor his motto: 'I Did It My Way!'
