Shirley Ann Kyser Majors, aged 89, of Hemphill, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hemphill Care Center. Born in Sunset, on August 25, 1935, to A. J. Anderson and Virginia Wilhite Anderson, Shirley was a devoted housewife and mother. She spent 35 years as a resident of Hemphill, having previously lived in Kingwood. Shirley was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Hemphill and was a previous member of the Busy Bees. She found joy in square dancing and crafting.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands,William D. Kyser and John Douglas Majors, and her brothers, Charles Blasingame and Jerry Blasingame.

She is survived by her son, Dale Kyser and his wife, Ruby, of Porter; her daughter, Susan Evans of Dayton Beach, Florida; her grandchildren, Jaimie, Jessica, Jacquie, and Brian; and her great-grandchildren, Tabatha, Jailyn, Josalyn, and Jewelian.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Isaac Low Cemetery, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home, with Bro. Bo Owens officiating.
