Alvis Jackson Key
Alvis Jackson Key, 63, of Bronson, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Born on September 10, 1961, in San Augustine, Alvis was the beloved son of Alvin Key and Mary Sue Roberts Key. A lifelong resident of Bronson, Alvis dedicated many years to his profession as a Boiler Maker, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Alvis was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life, spending his time immersed in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, activities that brought him joy and fulfillment. His love for nature was only surpassed by his devotion to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Penny Key, and their sons, Nicholas Key and his wife, Tonja, and Marcus Key, all of Bronson. Alvis was a proud grandfather to Addison Key, Kasey Key, Kameron Key, Kysen Key, Gabriel Hawver, and JonniRae Hawver, and a cherished great-grandfather to Huxlee Key, Marisol Hawver, and Sagelynn Hawver. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathie Nelson and Jean Beavers, both of Livingston, who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Key.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Starr Funeral Home, located at 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Curtis White.
Alvis will be laid to rest in Little Flock Cemetery, with Barry Welch, Brandon Roberts, David Ray Craig, Ryan Craig, Trent Loper, Rocky White, Chris Jones, and Kameron Key serving as pallbearers.
