Robert Allen 'Bob' Cole, aged 81, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Hemphill. Born on March 9, 1943, in Port Arthur, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to his community, love for his family, and a spirited sense of humor.

Bob served honorably in theArmy National Guard, a commitment reflecting his dedication to both local and national service. His military tenure was characterized by both discipline and camaraderie, traits that he carried into his subsequent career.

Professionally, Bob was a respected police officer, serving over 40 years across multiple Texas communities including Port Arthur, Bridge City, Jefferson County, Chambers County, and Sabine County. His exemplary service was highlighted by his attendance at the prestigious FBI National Academy 121st Session in Virginia, an experience that enhanced his skills and broadened his impact in law enforcement.

Bob was a man of faith, actively involved in the Six Mile Baptist Church. His belief and participation in church activities were sources of strength and community throughout his life.

He was also known for his love of the outdoors, often found hunting or fishing. True to his jovial nature, Bob was famous for playing pranks, a hobby that brought laughter and lightheartedness to all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Cole of Hemphill; son, Kelly Cole and wife, Stephanie of Bridge City; grandson, Zachary Cole and Lauren Luginsland of Tampa, Florida; sisters-in-law, Mildred Saboy of Grove and Miriam Yoke and husband, Phillip ofAustin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Donald Cole and Doris Henderson Cole, and brother-in-law, Denis Saboy.

Bob's legacy of service, both in uniform and in his community, coupled with his capacity for joy and humor, will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Starr Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Six Mile Baptist Church in Hemphill, Texas with Bro. James Wedgeworth officiating.
