Lois Elaine Galloway passed away in her sleep at Legacies Nursing Home in Hemphill, on October 3, 2024. She had been a resident of Legacies for over three years. Elaine was born on June 20, 1948, in Port Arthur, to Fern Galloway and Lois Brown Galloway. She grew up in Groves and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School. She then studied commercial art at Lamar University. Elaine was employed as a telephone switchboard operator and supervisor at Texas Children’s Hospital, Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur and then at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Fern Austin (Sonny) Galloway and David Roger Galloway. She is survived by two nieces, Lisa LeClair and Michelle Mc-Glothin, several cousins, and many lifelong friends.

Elaine’s Family extends our thanks to the staff at Legacies for taking such wonderful care of Elaine in her declining years.

Elaine’s ashes will be interred at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, Louisiana near her parents and Galloway relatives.
