Mary Ann Hall, 81, of Childress, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo.

Mary Ann was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Jasper to parents Lawrence Curtis “Jack” Wimberley and Minnie Mae “Tootsie” Lofton Wimberley. She had lived most of her life in Rosevine and Broaddus before moving three years ago to Childress in order to be near her family, especially Harper, her granddaughter who was the “apple of her eye.”

She grew up in Broaddus and graduated from Broaddus High School. Mary Ann and Charles Hall were married Dec. 23, 1961. Mary Ann worked as a cosmetologist for over 20 years. She was a real estate agent before later becoming a registered professional landman, working 15 years.

Survivors: son, Charles “Chip” Hall Jr. and wife Jamie of Childress; granddaughter, Harper Ann Hall of Childress; brother, Jimmy Wimberley and wife Kathy of Broaddus; sister, Loretta Wimberley of Broaddus; aunt, Florence Rushing of Deer Park; nephew, Justin Wimberley; niece, Crystal Parks Clegg; great-nephew, Cole Clegg and wife Morgan, and Brayson Clegg; great-niece, Lacey Lee and husband Aaron; along with numerous great-great-nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Tootsie Wimberley; husband, Charles Hall Sr.; and a grandson, Charlie Hall.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel, San Augustine, with Bro. Charlie Rushing and Bro. Don Lofton officiating. Interment followed at Rosevine Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Wimberley, Justin Wimberley, Timmy Wimberley, Wyatt Wimberley, Cole Clegg, and Brayson Clegg.
