Kortlyn Nikole Bennett, aged 18, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her residence in Hemphill. Born on January 27, 2006, in Galveston, she was the cherished daughter of Darren Clinton Bennett and Janie Cheree Adkins. Kortlyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was happiest when surrounded by her loving family, listening to their stories and sharing moments together. Kortlyn enjoyed attending various sporting events, reveling in the energetic atmosphere. Her love for music was profound, as she appreciated the thrill of loud sounds that filled the air with rhythm and life.

Kortlyn is survived by her father, Clint Bennett of Hemphill; her mother, Janie Cheree Adkins and Justin Cosby of Douglas, ; maternal grandparents, Earl and Kathie Adkins of San Augustine; paternal grandparents, Derrell and Sandra Bennett of San Augustine; her sister, Lana Presley and her husband, Michal, of Hemphill; and her niece, Miley Presley.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. The services weree officiated by Bro. Floyd Wright and Bro. Darrell Bennett.

Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dwayne Bennett, Clint Adkins, Pete Makunas, Derrell Bennett, Earl Adkins, and Justin Cosby.
