Maurice Daniel, Jr., born on November 24, 1958, in San Augustine, to Maurice Daniel, Jr. and Margie Nora Clark Daniel. He passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the age of 65 in Jasper. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County, deeply rooted in the community and the natural lifestyle it offered.

Maurice was a skilled heavy equipment operator, managing his own business with expertise and dedication. His love for the outdoors was profound, as he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Maurice also had a passion for carpentry, often spending his free time working on various projects.

He leaves behind his special friend, Linda Hill of Bronson, and his stepdaughter, Courtney Hill of San Augustine. He is also survived by his brothers, Reagan Neal Daniel of Sour Lake and John Wayne Daniel (Debbie) of San Augustine; sisters, Patricia Ann Day (Curtis) of Houston and Tina Taylor (Robert) of Waller. His joy was further multiplied by his grandchildren, Makenna Hill and Cashton Poindexter.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Margie Daniel, and his stepson, Case Hill.

Memorial services for Maurice will be announced at a later date. His arrangements are being handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas.
