He was born on Sept. 29, 1937, in Jasper, to William Cullen "Cull" Wright and Margaret Ziegler Wright. He grew up in Bronson, where he met and married Elaine King Wright and settled in Galena Park, where his family was raised and later moved back to the Plainview Community area and Hemphill. After the passing of his beloved wife, he moved to Buffalo, and lived with his son, Larry Wright and wife, Paula.

He was a hard worker and mastered the skill of fabricator and welder and was also a superintendent of the oil and gas industry for 50 years. He was a man of many trades and gave his all in whatever he did and always accomplished anything he did.

He enjoyed doing woodworking projects and made many things that was helpful or decorative and got great pleasure in doing so. He enjoyed growing all vegetables in his garden but growing tomatoes for his wife was his favorite. He like planting and helping her with her plants and flowers and always found unique settings for them. He enjoyed getting out for walks and sitting in his rocking chair on the back porch visiting with his family or just enjoying the quiet. Often times after a visit with his children and grandchildren, he sent them off with a personal item of his or something he may have made. He believed in giving more than receiving. He loved singing and would burst out with a gospel song at any time and often. His life revolved around the love he had for his wife, his children and grandchildren.
