Mary Linda Campbell, 73, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 in Lufkin, Texas. She was born in Mt. Olive, AL on June 28, 1949 to Marion Jack Hayes and Myrle Warren Hayes. She lived in San Diego, California for many years where she worked in Space Control Supervision for General Dynamics. She had been a resident of Hemphill for the past 28 years and was a member of Rosevine Church of God where she loved volunteering in children's church and singing Christian music. She loved her church and her church family.

She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Nacogdoches, a member of Pendleton Harbor Volunteer Fire Department and the Sister's Circle in Fairmount. She had a smile that would light up the day and a great sense of humor and she loved her grandchildren so much.

She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Santos of San Diego, CA and Marcie Blackerby and husband, Dwayne, of Hemphill; brothers, Ray Hayes and wife, Beverly, of Bossier City, LA and Jimmy Hayes of Mt. Olive, AL; brother-in-law, Bill Campbell and wife, Anchi, of San Diego; sisters, Marilyn Nix and husband, Greg, of Warrior, AL and Carolyn Giles and husband, Dale, of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Mary Anne Santos, Alston James Santos and Neo Blackerby; and great grandchild, Myla Claire Manglona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Alston Campbell; and daughters, Mary Anne Campbell and Betty Jane Campbell.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Burial will follow services in Hemphill Cemetery with friends and loved ones serving as pallbearers.
