Pauline Yvonne Payne, 83, of Broaddus, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at her residence in Broaddus.

She was born in Canton, OK, on April 14, 1939, to Leroy Whitney and Flora Elizabeth Zebree Whitney. She was a loving wife and mother who loved reading her Bible and attending Full Gospel Church. She liked quilting and crocheting and she loved to travel.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hyden of Scrappin' Valley; sons, Michael Payne and wife, Lisa, of Rayburn Country and Daniel Payne and wife, Sondra, of Broaddus; daughters, Patricia Payne of Strickland Crossing, Leona Miller and husband, Larry, of Rosevine and Elizabeth Norsworthy of San Augustine Park; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Leon Payne; parents, Leroy and Flora Elizabeth Whitney; brothers, Bill Whitney and Kenneth Whitney; and son-in-law, Randy Norsworthy.

Funeral services will begin today, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Bentsen and Bro. Pat Jacks officiating.

Burial will follow services in Weeks Chapel Cemetery, 315 Co Rd 233 in Jasper, with Zach Payne, Bruce Broussard, Jr., Vince Prewitt, Jonathan Miller, Austin Ickles, and Bruce Broussard, Sr., serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Alford.
