Michael Simmons Shipley, 40, of College Station, passed away Sunday, October 23, in Lufkin. He was born in San Antonio, on June 9, 1982 to Lynn Alan Shipley and Rhonda LaNell Simmons. He had recently moved to Geneva from College Station where he had resided for the past 12 years. He was a major Aggie fan and enjoyed herb gardening. He also was an avid Lord of the Rings Fan. Michael was a talented chef and musician that enjoyed writing and playing.

He is survived by his father, Lynn Shipley of San Angelo; nephew, Conner Shipley and niece, Sidney Shipley; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Simmons Shipley; sister, Jennifer Lynn Shipley; and grandparents, Bill and Donice Simmons and Sidney and Dorothy Shipley.

Memorial services and burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 12, in Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Geneva.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Myrtle Springs Cemetery, P. O. Box 193, Milam.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home, Hemphill, Texas.
