Gary Dean Hudson, known to his friends as 'Buzz', 68, of Hemphill, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 in Beaumont. He was born in Astoria, OR, on June 19, 1954 to Donald Alfred Hudson and Beverly Ellen Patson Hudson. He had resided in Eureka, KS before moving to Sabine County with his wife, Rita, whom he loved dearly, in 2007. He had worked as an electrician for many years and he was a member of Fairdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Kain Keel of Springfield, MO and Matthew Hudson and wife, Kitti, of Pineland; daughters, Lori Koehn and husband, Robert, of Leon, KS, Karla Sexton and husband, Kevin, of Mountain View, AR, Brandi Brown and husband, Jerry, of Hemphill, Lily Hudson of Bronson, and K'Lee Duffey and husband, Lukas, of Bronson; sister, Donna Hudson of Austin; and grandchildren, Jacob, Robbie, John, Trinity, Brizden, Dean, Caden, Kaci, Hannah, Dante, Skarlett, Daniel, Kaden, Gabriel, J. R., Emily, Bryleigh, Bayleigh, Blayze and Briar.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Rita Hudson; his parents; his sister, Sharon Mitchell; and his cat, Mrs. Kitty.

Funeral services were held, Oct. 25, in Fairdale Baptist Church, 4820 Fairdale Rd, Hemphill, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. J. R. McDonald officiating.

Burial followed services in Mt. Sinai Cemetery with Matthew Hudson, Lukas Duffey, Jerry Brown, Caden Sutton and Clint Fowler serving as pallbearers.
