Ira Malcom Brown
Ira Malcom Brown, 78, of San Augustine, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 in Hospice in the Pines, Lufkin. He was born in San Augustine on Dec. 12, 1943, to Guy Rufus Brown and Georgia Ann Tidwell Brown. He was a lifetime resident of San Augustine and worked as a machinist at Lufkin Industries for 46 years before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Broaddus and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Brown of San Augustine; daughter, Deborah Ann Vann of Woodville; brother, Ellis Ray Brown and wife, Linda, of San Augustine; sister, Myrtie Ann Ford and husband, Tony, of Bronson; grandchildren, Krystle Vann, Amber Vann and Aaliyah Hill; and great grandchildren, Baily Van Pelt, Alina McClendon, Colby McClendon and Ari Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Cullum Brown, Janette Brown and Iris Janine Hill; and sister, Justine Joachimi.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Lofton officiating.
Burial followed services in Little Flock Cemetery with Marlon Ford, Jimmy Ray Brown, Chris Ford, Tony Ford, Trea Thacker and Corey Guarnere serving as pallbearers and Rusty Birdwell and Gaylon Bryan serving as honorary pallbearers.
