Body The diamonds were once again busy this past week as all four Sabine County squads saw action once again. The Hemphill Hornets had quite the productive week, going 41 with the lone loss coming to a salty Evadale Pirates squad 7-3 on March 3.

Body Those San Augustine Wolves have shown out on the hardwood and punched a ticket to the State Basketball Playoffs in San Antonio.

Body The Hemphill High School Lady Hornets Powerlifting Team delivered an outstanding performance at the Regional Powerlifting Meet, bringing home three medals and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Body The Hemphill High School boys powerlifting team turned in an impressive performance at the regional powerlifting meet held in Rusk, bringing home six medals and finishing third overall as a team.

Body A senior at West Sabine High School is being recognized for an outstanding academic achievement on the national level.

Body Three Hemphill Hornet student athletic trainers recently showcased their skills on a regional stage, earning top honors and a coveted invitation to compete at the state level.

Body All four Sabine County baseball and softball squads had a busy week. The Lady Tigers played in the Blues Brothers Tournament in Nacogdoches while the Tigers took part in the 3rd Annual Ben Stuart Classic.

Body Both Sabine county schools got their respective baseball and softball seasons underway this past week. The Tigers had their home opener on February 17, which they took 3-2 behind strong pitching from Cayson McBride and Laken Quick.
