Officials with the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office say Darci Bass, 41, is facing multiple charges for allegedly trying to run a police officer over with her car. It happened Tuesday, May 31 in the Zwolle area.

Criminal Court was in session Tuesday, May 31 with the 273rd District Judge Jim Payne presiding in Sabine County at the Hemphill courthouse. First up was Mason Bradley Belk, was sentenced to 40 years of confinement for the indictments handed down in April of 2021, on intent to terrorize Doris Darlene Newman, or inflict bodily injury on Newman, intentionally and knowingly abduct Newman, herafter styled to complainant, by restricting the movements of the complainant without her consent so as to interfere substantially with her liberty by confining her with the intent to prevent her liberation, by secreting or holding her in a place where she was not likely to be found.
