GM Water Supply issues statement

Body
GM Water Supply Corporation issues statement on dirty / discolored water: this has been an ongoing issue since doing the free chlorine conversion which began back in mid July in conjunction with the City of Hemphill. The discoloration in the water is not dirt or mud. It’s a combination of iron and manganese that is falling out within the system once it leaves the main water plant. Water samples are taken regularly and even though the water may not look appeasing, the State of Texas says the water is safe and therefore no boil water notices have been issued. Since beginning the conversion, we have flushed over 10 million gallons of water on the ground in hopes the water clearing up. We are currently working with multiple different companies as well as Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused. Thank you.
