Bobby Dale Raney
Bobby Dale Raney, 63, of Houston, passed away on September 19, 2026. He was a proud father, a hardworking man, and a loyal friend whose kindness left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Bobby was born on August 3, 1963, to Thomas Luther Raney and Mary Etta Wright Raney. He carried on the family trade as a glazier, and he took real pride in his work. Over the years he completed many jobs across the Houston area, and there are windows and storefronts all over the city that stand as a quiet testament to his skill and care.
Of all life's blessings, none meant more to Bobby than the birth of his first and only son, Nicholas. Becoming a father thrilled him, and his love for Nicholas was at the heart of everything he did.
Bobby was a lifelong fan of baseball and football, and he was always happy to talk about a good game. But what people will remember most is his generous spirit. He had many friends, and he never seemed to run short of a kind or encouraging word for anyone he met. He had a way of making people feel better just for having crossed his path.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Temple Raney; his son, Nicholas Raney; his brothers, Wayne Raney and Tommy Raney; his sister, Madelon Raney; and his sister-in-law, Sally Raney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Luther Raney and Mary Etta Wright Raney; his grandparents, Carl Leyfette Wright and Etta Mae Wright, and Gilpin Horace Raney and Rena Clytie Raney; his brothers, Billy Raney and Paul Raney; and his sister-in-law, Karen Raney.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Centerview Cemetery on Centerview Road in Pineland, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Raney officiating. A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at a later date.
Bobby's warmth, his hard work, and his encouraging heart will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends who were lucky to know him.
