A local family and multiple commuities mourn the loss of 33-year-old Bryan Williams Blue. San Augustine County Investigators, along with the Texas Rangers are investigating after he was found dead in his backyard yesterday. A source close to the family says Blue, who worked nights for Hodge Trucking, was discovered by family early in the afternoon.

Sources say Blue had been shot in the back with a crossbow. His truck was missing and so was his roommate, Lorenza White. Blue had recently allowed White to move in following Lorenza’s release from prison. There were no signs of a struggle and investigators believe Blue did not see it coming, leaving family and law enforcement to wonder if the shooting was accidental or perhaps White was under the influence. Regardless, he fled in the victim’s truck.

As of last night, White had been apprehended in Blue’s truck, near Lufkin and is currently in the custody of the Texas Rangers.

Lorenza S. White, 36 of San Augustine, has been convicted previously of aggravated assault and possession of CS and marijuana, as well as manslaughter in 2009, in which he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He eventually made parole and was most recently arrested in 2018 in Shelby County for possession of marijuana, according to the background check obtained by Sabine County Reporter.
